Description:
Child health and integrated management of childhood illness is a broad course focused on reducing childhood mortality and morbidity within the country.

Children are vulnerable to infectious diseases, malnutrition, child abuse etc. Most of the condition can be prevented and treated

Goal:

The course is aimed at equipping the training with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for children especially those under the age of five years

Objectives:

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

 

1.0  Discuss the normal Growth and development

2.0 Explain the condition that can put the child in grave danger

3.0 Discuss breastfeeding and young feeding programmes

4.0  Explain Nutritional assessment in children, and Nutritional deficiencies
