This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skill and competencies of identification and management of common psychiatric emergencies in the community.

Goal:

This course is designed to enable the students acquire more knowledge, skills and experience in the use of Standing Orders to manage clients with different conditions.

Objectives:

At the end of the unit, the learners should be able to:

1.0 Describe the concept of psychiatric emergencies

2.0 Demonstrate the skills and competencies in the management of common psychiatric emergencies

3.0 Demonstrate the skills and competencies in the management of organic psychiatric emergencies
